Familiy holidays on Gipsy Caravan
7 day Adventure for Families or Groups of Friends
Region: France
Enjoy a unique holiday experience in rural France in your very own gipsy caravan. Immerse yourself in the traditional French lifestyle and landscapes, far away from the tourist track, following the quiet roads and staying in campsites, farms and B&B’s along the way.
Your gipsy caravan is your home for the week, and the horse will be your new friend! You can spend all day long outside in the fresh air and take your time to discover the countryside in this unique and eco-friendly way. Your home, a four-wheeled traditional vehicle, is well equipped to give you all the necessary comforts for your trip.
The horses, mostly Pecheron breeds, are specially selected for the route and know the roads very well. It’s not necessary to be a qualified horse-rider! The breeds are famous for their load carrying capacity. Strong, quiet and docile, they are the ideal horse for towing a gipsy caravan. In spite of their size they are very well tempered animals.
This unique and very environmentally-friendly vacation (no Co2 emissions) can lead you through beautiful regions like: Bretagne, Loire, Franche-Comté, Jura, Gers, Périgord, Centre, Aveyron, Vendée, etc. at a gentle and leisurely pace. The short distances between the halts (max.15 km) makes it possible to just trundle along in the French countryside.

We fully encourage our guests on the gipsy caravan holidays to meet local people, go to local restaurants and sample local food. All repairs, maintenance, and farming assistance will be provided by local people. We offer opportunities to horse-growers, farmers, retired people and seasonal workers.
Recycling is also key! Make sure you dispose of waste properly and avoid buying any heavily packaged products where possible.
