Programme:

Le Mas de Salel is an ancient cheap farm, dating from the 18th century: 700 m altitude with a magnificient view on the Larzac-Plateau and four departments of France. 15 double rooms, 5 large holiday apartments, garden terrasses and a beautiful swimming pool with a view on the pitoresque village Montagnol. It wants to offer the natural charm of a region far from mass tourism. We want to create a bridge between guests and local people and to show our hosts ancient traditions and rural life style. Our guest choose à la carte, which visits they are interested in and learn to know fascinating people and their way of life.

• Visithe ‘King of cheeses’, from milk production at ewes farms till maturation in the unique Roquefort caves,
• World famous designers or walkers passing by: Jean-Pierre Romiguier fascinates people with hand made leather articles produced in his workshop in the middle of a forest…

History:

• Once a stronghold of medieval knights, 5 Templar cities, rare relics of the past, open their city walls to let you witness the life of the Crusade period…
• the Marquis de Fayet and assist in a castle tour, guided by the chatelaine himself and learn about Family histories, French Revolution, Renaissance architecture etc.

The friendly guides care for the children at three afternoons per week. They develop creative ideas, given the vast nature that surrounds our houses and include the unique rustic features each house preserves.
