Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Albi – First hike
Meeting point for this walking tour at 2 pm at the train station of Albi. You begin with a visit of the city, the cathedral Sainte Cécile and the museum Toulouse Lautrec. Finaly, you are brought to Castelnau de Montmirail , a wonderful village with colourful houses, where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Vieux – Castelnau de Montmiral
Today, you go for a circular hike to the village Vieux. On the way, you will visit the church of the castle of Mayraques and walk through the vineyard of Gaillac. At the end of the day, you spend another night in Castelnau de Montmiral.
Duration: 4 to 5 h – Distance: 12-15 km / 7.4-9.3 mi – Difference in altitude: approx. 300 m

Day 3: Forest La Grésigne – Puycelci – Bruniquel
The hike today leads you through the forest of La Grésigne to the village Puycelci. After a small tour, you will drive to Bruniquel, where another visit will take place.
Duration: 4 to 5 h – Distance: 12-15 km / 7.4-9.3 mi – Difference in altitude: approx. 300 m

Day 4: Round walking on the Aveyron's riverbanks

Easy round walking today on the Aveyron's riverbanks. On the way, you will visit the templar donjon of Montricoux and the museum Marcel Lenoir. Return to Bruniquel.

Day 5: Aveyron
You will hike above the impressives gorges of the Aveyron and continue in the direction of the medieval village Penne d'Albigeois of which the castle was the last haven for the Catharers. Then you go to sleep in Cordes sur Ciel.
Duration: 3 to 4 h – Distance: 12 km / 7.4 mi – Difference in altitude: approx. 200 m

Day 6: Cordes sur Ciel
The day begins with a tour in Cordes, a preserved treasure of the gothic design. Then you continue on a circular hike to Albi through the grot of Meulière and the chapel ruins of St André. Finally, you will have a fascinating night hike through Albi.
Duration: 3 to 4 h – Distance: 10 km / 6.2 mi – Difference in altitude: approx. 200 m

Day 7: Departure
Breakfast in Albi and departure.

The paths goes on diverse lands without particular difficulties.
