Itinerary

Day 1: Ajaccio - Marignana

Meeting at the Ajaccio bus station at 3pm. Departure for Marignana, and overnight stay in the village.

Day 2: Hiking on the ridges

From Marignana, crossing of the valley following routes once used by shepherds. Beautiful climb on the ridges and return to Marignana.

Duration: 5 h - Distance: 13 km - Difference in altitude: + 580 m / - 580 m

Day 3: Marignana - Ota

From Marignana, hike towards the abandoned village of Tassu to reach Evisa. The path follows the Spelunca gorges punctuated by traditional bridges built by the Genoese . Night in Ota.

Duration : 5 h - Distance : 12 km - Difference in altitude : + 260 m / - 650 m

Day 4: Hike in the Lonca Valley

Discover the wild valley of Lonca by following ancient transhumance routes. Enjoy a swim in the river before heading to Ota for an overnight stay.

Duration: 4 h 30 - Distance: 9 km - Difference in altitude: + 750 m / - 750 m

Day 5 : Curzu - Girolata

Transfer to the village of Curzu. Hike to the Col de la Croix, offering an extraordinary view of the Gulf of Girolata and Porto. The hike leads to the beach of Tuara and the small fishing village of Girolata.

Duration : 5 h 30 - Distance : 10 km - Difference in altitude : + 720 m / - 960 m

Day 6 : Girolata - Ajaccio

For the last day, crossing of the maquis to reach Bocca di Fuata. Hike on the crests, with a beautiful panorama on the gulf of Girolata. Descent to the Palmarella pass and transfer to Ajaccio (6pm).

Duration : 4 h - Distance : 8 km - Difference in altitude : + 630 m / - 250 m

Nota bene : For your safety or if the circumstances require it, the guide may have to modify the itinerary and/or the organisation of the trip.

Our journey starts and ends at the bus station in Ajaccio.
Participants are asked to organize transport to and from Ajaccio themselves. You may extend your stay in Corsica if you wish.

Price includes :

5 nights in stopover gites with full board, state-certified mountain guide, luggage transport, transfers according to the programme, tourist tax.

Minimum number of participants

Departure guaranteed from 5 participants (max. 14 participants).
Not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Cancellation deadline by the tour operator: 21 days before the start date of the trip.

Accommodation

Accommodation: Overnight stays in stopover gites (dormitory of 4 to 6 people with shared bathroom). No single room available.
Please bring your own sleeping bag. Beware of bed bugs.

Meals: picnics prepared by the guide, snacks, breakfasts and dinners taken in the accommodation (local products). Wine and drinks not included.

Level: Medium

Stages of 4 to 5.3 hours per day (8-13 km) on rocky terrain with some steep climbs. A good physical condition is required.

Luggage transport from one accommodation to another, you will only carry your personal belongings and your picnic (except for the overnight stay in Girolata).

Transport to destination

Recommendation: arrival by ferry at the port of Ajaccio and by bus to the bus station in Ajaccio.
