Fresh blackberries smoothie

August is here, blackberry time. In jam, jelly, juice or smoothies, blackberries are always appreciated and well worth the effort required for picking them off wild brambles.

Full of vitamins (A, B, C, E), blackberries are the perfect ingredient for a homemade smoothie, and can even facilitate digestion thanks to their richness in fibres. The ancient Greeks used the little berry as a medicinal plant… all the more reason to have blackberries in your garden!

To enjoy this little darling, a few instructions must however be respected: it is important to wash the berries under water before eating them… raw or cooked, according to your desires! Muffins, tarts, yoghurts, smoothies…blackberries will lend itself to all your whims and will leave on a fruity perfume on your taste bus… and a pretty purple color on your tongue!

Preparation time: 5 Minutes.

Ingredients (for three servings)

  • 400g of blackberries
  • 1 lemon yogurt (bought or homemade)
  • 200ml of milk**
  • 2 ice cubes

  • feel free to use almond or soy milk to keep it vegan

Preparation

Put the blackberries, yoghurt and milk in the blender, then mix. Then add the ice cubes. Mix until smooth (about 5 min).
Divide smoothie among three large glasses and refrigerate for one hour.

Cool yourself on a hot day.

Tip: the smoothie can be prepared or combined with other berries according to preference. Have some seasonal fruits on the side!
