Dates: from mid-June to mid-August, the lavender covers the land from Crest in the Drôme to Grasse in the Alpes-Maritimes and gives it the blue gold of Provence. The hikes we have selected in the Drôme provençale, Haut-Vaucluse and Haute-Provence will allow you to fully enjoy these distinctive landscapes, the true originality of this lavender-growing area. Emphasis will also be placed on special visits to distilleries and sites producing essential oils only in organic form.
Due to stronger pests (such as the lavandin midge, Arima marginata, "meadow spittlebug" and Trionymus multivorus), the traditional Provencal lavender crop, the one planted in line, has faced a drop in production.
Bright and very sunny climate in general. Mild temperatures most of the time, sometimes very hot in summer, but the Durance towards Forcalquier brings a little breeze at night. The trip takes place between 400 and 1400 metres above sea level.
We recommend a low-carbon train ride to Montélimar
