Visit Brittany's Pretty Island and experience the highest standards of eco-accommodations at the carton house and treehouse. Your family will have a unique, relaxing stay surrounded by Belle-Île-en-Mer's beautiful landscapes and can enjoy the sun on the beach close by.
The lodging is located on _*Belle-Île-en-Mer*_ (pretty island), the biggest island off the coast of Brittany. The name itself gives away what landscapes are in store for you. It has been a source of inspiration for many painters that have come and gone. Not to miss are its picturesque villages and lighthouses, the latter of which you could mount for sightseeing.
Bookings from 3 nights
Alain and Nicole offer you a unique holiday in their carton house B&B and treehouse in the small village of Borvran! Grab one of their bikes and cycle to the coast through the network of cycle paths. Wake up to a delicious breakfast prepared with love and of course from local organic produce.
The accommodation strives to reach the standards of a *passive house*, where a markedly low level of energy consumption (a true passive house leaves no carbon footprint on its environment). That means in the treehouse, the nights will be spent without internet and electricity. You'll make it through the days without missing these (too much).
Alain and Nicole's carton B&B is the first of its kind in France. Furniture, bed and lamps are also made of carton - from the carton waste of the house!
Belle-Île is one hour's ferry ride from the south coast of Brittany and is the largest island in Brittany. The carton B&B and hsi treehouse are located in the southwest near the village of Locmaria.
LED lighting works with motion detectors, which saves even more electricity. All textiles, as well as detergents and cleaning products, have an eco-label. Due to the scarcity of water in Belle Ile en Mer, the owners are very attentive to water consumption. Similarly, all ingredients and foodstuffs are purchased only in "bulk" form in order to avoid waste as much as possible.

Alain and Nicole have created this *original eco-friendly lodging project, in which cardboard scrap is recycled for the construction of the house and its furniture*. The accommodation strives to reach the standards of a *passive house*, where a markedly low level of energy consumption that results from high natural insulation and low energy lighting among other measures is maintained (a true passive house leaves no carbon footprint on its environment. Your passionate hosts try to get as close to that standard as they can). Consequently, all fabric and cleaning products come from ecolabelled businesses.
Biodegrable waste is fed to a compost and the gardening is carried out *without pesticides*.
The onwers are committed to preserving the environment for future generations. Their cardboard B&B is the best illustration of this and necessarily a source of reflection and inspiration.
