A trip full of outdoor activities such as climbing and caving await you and your children in the regional park of the Grand Causses. You can swim and picnic at the water's edge.
A unique family holiday awaits you in the heart of the Grands Causses Regional Park: explore the Cévennes between the departments of Lozère and Aveyron. You will be accommodated in a gîte on the Stevenson route. This trip combines à la carte activities with exciting outdoor activities such as via ferrata, grotto walks.
Day 1: Arrival in Florac
Participants meet first in Florac at 6:30pm, and join the gîte where they will have dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 2: Via Corda (4-6pm)
Participants are introduced to the high ropes course in the afternoon. The child-friendly high ropes course is situated in chestnut trees and on cliffs. They can also use the monkey bridge, cable car, net, abseiling and other activities
Day 3: Canoeing ( 10 am-17 pm)
Participants canoe today and can admire the beauty of the Tarn gorges while doing so.
Day 4: Day at leisure
Today is a good opportunity to plan a round trip with the donkeys from the hamlet or a walk on the tracks of the dinosaurs in Saint-Laurent-de-Trèves. Participants can also choose to bath in the river today.
Day 5: Climbing park (10-11:30am) and caving (2-6pm)
In the morning, participants visit a tree-climbing course for the whole family with additional facilities such as cable cars, jetty and a big pendulum jump. They will move on to the cave of Castelbouc in the afternoon for an underground adventure.
Day 6: Via Ferrata
After a short introduction to via ferrata (climbing route) where participants learn about technique, you will go downstream through the Tapoul Gorge.
Day 7: Departure
Participants will enjoy breakfasts before making themselves on their way home.

Participants will reside in a gîte on the Stevenson's trail.
They will enjoy meals prepared from produce from the region (farm & garden). Your hosts will prepare picnic baskets for lunch.
Accessible for children from 8 to 12 years. Swimming skills are essential. 3 to 5 hours of activity per day.
All trainers are state-certified, French outdoor guides or A-safety trainers. There is no tour guide on the spot, there are supervisors on the site. The supervisors speak French.
Luggage: Eco-friendly transport of your baggage on the back of the donkey for 3 days. Participants are requested to only bring along light luggage (max. 15kg) and backpacks (no suitcases) so as not to overstrain the donkey.
The causse noir or causse nègre is the smallest of this big limestone plateau. It takes its name from the dark colour of the forest that used to cover it. The causse noir stretches over three departements: Aveyron, Gard and Lozère.
The term causse comes from the dialect of the region, Languedoc, and has an agricultural and scenic meaning. It defines a strongly water-eroded karst land, a characteristic form of sedimentary rock in the south and west of the central massif: This is why the inhabitants there are called „caussenards“!
Participants require a car to reach the farm and the other sites on the itinerary.
