Discover one of the Mediterranean's most beautiful islands with your family! Join us on this guided hiking tour through Corsica, exploring its gorgeous coast, impressive mountains, roaring rivers and vast moorlands. The hike will take you from the foot of the majestic mountain of Paglia Orba along the Fango river, and through the Scandola nature reserve with its famous cliff line – one of the UNESCO's world heritage sites. Take advantage of the frequent breaks to soak up the island's beautiful landscapes and take a dip in creeks, basins and the sea. An exciting yet easy kayaking tour in the Fango delta will round off your family holiday adventure!
Day 1: Calvi – Montestremo
Your family trip starts at 6:30pm at the Tourist information centre in Calvi. From there, a minibus will take you to Montestremo, a picturesque village perched high on the hillside of the Fango valley at the foot of the Cinto mountains which contain Corsica's tallest summit.
Day 2: The coalmen's trail
Your first hike will take you through beautiful scrublands at the foot of the the Paglia Orba mountain, the former dominion of Corsica's 20th century carbonari (coalmen). Take advantage of one of the frequent breaks to take a refreshing dip in the cool waters along the way!

Day 3: The upper Fango
Discover the Fango river, one of Corsica's most beautiful and famous rivers whose stream forms natural basins with crystal-clear water. Be sure to admire the wonderful old gardens the valley's inhabitants have created along the way!

Day 4: Montestremo – Girolata
Today's hike through a nature reserve and a lagoon will likely take your breath away! From the summit of Palmarello, continue walking along the beaches of Tuara until you reach the small port village of Giralota, accessible only on foot or from the sea. Spend the night at a hostel in Girolata.

Day 5: Mare e Monti
From Girolata the route will take you on the hiking trail Mare e Monti overlooking the fishing village Galeria. From there, you may choose between several itineraries to suit your family's preferences. After the hike, a bus will take you back to Montestremo.

Day 6: Swimming, kayaking & departure
Spend the morning swimming and relaxing, followed by a lunch picnic on the beach of Galeria. In the afternoon, an exciting yet easy kayaking tour through the Fango delta will round off your trip. Your family adventure ends at 5pm in Calvi. Have a safe trip home or enjoy a few extra days on France's beautiful island, e.g. relaxing at the gorgeous beaches of Balagne!

5 nights in dormitories (4 to 6 persons/room) n stopover gîtes with shared sanitary facilities. We'll do our best to place members of one family in the same dormitory. Please bring your own sleeping bags and towels.
Breakfast and dinner will be served at the gites. The homemade Corsican meals are prepared with regional products. During the hikes, you will enjoy copious picnic lunches also made of regional foods (e.g. salads, fruit, etc.). The picnics will be prepared by your guide but feel free to help! Additional snack will be available during hikes.
Beverages are not included.

A list of recommended gear will be provided upon booking.
We recommend a low-carbon train ride to Marseille, Toulon or Nice (France), or to Milan, Savona or Genoa (Italy). From there, you can take a ferry to Corsica (Calvi or another city followed by a train ride to Calvi).
