Situated in the heart of a nature reserve, these ecological, modern country-style tree houses completely blend in with their natural surroundings. The eight meter tall dwellings are built from wood and insulated with wood fiber to curb their ecological footprint while their spacious interior and transparent roof provide plenty of room and a clear view of the sky. The bathroom is located on the ground floor. Climbing the internal and external stairs that lead to the deck and living room, you will be able to appreciate the landscape construction skills that went into designing these dwellings. The tree houses are spaced out to allow for an unobstructed view and all the intimacy you need. The large deck offers a view of the lake and the forest.

A natural swimming pool, a small organic food store, numerous hiking trails and bicycle tracks, canoeing and nature walks round off the offerings. An on-site photovoltaic system produces renewable energy. Hot water is generated through a solar thermal system while a vegetated pond serves a natural waste water disposal.

Gascony Regional Park
The nature reserve Parc Naturel Régional des Landes de Gascogne is located in the Aquitaine region, just south-west of Bordeaux and extending through the Arcachon Basin and the Landes department. The 20,600 hectare forest along the Grande Leyer and Petite Leyer creeks, which eventually merge to form the Eyre River, was declared a nature reserve in 1970.

Gascony Regional Park offers plenty of outdoor activities including:

  • Biking: An extensive bicycle path system, connecting the park with the Atlantic coast, allows for numerous easy bike tours. Visit traditional villages, churches and fountains, or follow a 80 km (50 mile) cycling path along the former railway line to the Lac d'Arcachon.
  • Hiking: Explore the region's unique landscape by following its extensive hiking path system and discover lagunas, gallery forests and rivers.
  • Canoeing: Rent a canoe and follow the windy watercourses through the gallery forest and the biotope.
  • Cultural outings: Visit the local eco-museum comprising three facilities to learn about the region’s traditions and inhabitants. In Marquèze, a steam train will take you back to 19th century rural France to discover an airial, an authentic residential and working district typical for the Landes department. In Luxey, you can explore the last working resin factory, while the Graine de forêt (forest seed) and its interactive exploration course welcome you at the heart of Europe’s largest timberland in Garein
