After fires in Gironde: Only the ocean beaches located between the Dune du Pilat and Biscarrosse, as well as the 5 campsites affected at La Teste-de-Buch remain inaccessible.
Day 1: Arrival in Arcachon
Late afternoon arrival at the hotel in Arcachon. Depending on their wishes, participants may explore the popular seaside resort on the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 2: Tour of Arcachon
Participants go on their first cycle tour to discover the many sights of Arcachon. In the south, you will discover a magnificent view of the Dune du Pilat.
Distance covered: 16km
Day 3: Le Teich bird sanctuary
After breakfast, participants cycle from the TER train station to Le Teich (should take about 15 min). The group will get a tour of LeTeich Ornithological Reserve, a large wildlife sanctuary for more than 300 species of bird. In the afternoon: participants will go kayaking towards the bay of Arcachon . It is not a must, but our English-speaking instructor may do the kayaking and tell you about the bay. Participants may also kayak on their own, for the waters of the bay are very calm. (Alternative to kayaking: naturalist boat trip with oar and pallet).
Distance covered:15km by bike, 6km of kayaking.
Day 4: Arcachon - Biganos – Andernos
Participants board a train to Biganos with their bicycles. From the train station, they will cycle to the port of Biganos. After Port de Cassy a cycle path leads you to Andernos Les Bains, a pretty seaside bathing spot.
Distance covered: 25-30km
Day 5: Andernos – Le Cap Ferret: the oyster villages
A bicycle ride from Andernos towards Jane de Boy and on to the famous and pretty oyster villages of Herbe and Canon. Maybe try some of their oysters? Transfer by boat through the bay back to Arcachon.

Day 6 : Arcachon - Dune du Pilat
After breakfast, there will be a bike trip to the Dune du Pilat, the largest dune in Europe. The 105m dune is mobile and annually advances 3 to 4 meters further into the forest. Overnight stay in Arcachon.

Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, the cycle tour ends.

Participants will stay mainly on cycle paths and small side roads along the coast and ride through pine forests. Never far from the sea, they can also take breaks for swimming.
