Le Petit Train Jaune

The regional train Le Petit Train Jaune runs on a railway line built in the early 20th century in order to connect the region's many plateaus. The cute little train, the colours of which are reminiscent of the yellow landscapes of the Pyrenees has become the region's pride and symbol.

Connecting Villefranche-de-Conflent and Latour de Carol, the yellow train runs through the Têt Valley and the Cerdagne region, totaling a distance of 63 km and climbing 1,200 meters to reach France's highest train station in Bolqueres.

The scenic train ride will take you through beautiful landscapes and across dizzying bridges and viaducts such as the 65m tall Séjourné Viaduct and the 80m tall Gisclard bridge.

How to get there

We recommend an overnight TGV (high-speed train) ride to La Tour de Carol via Paris. From there, a regional train or bus will take you to Mont-Louis/La Cabanasse.
